monkeycrap's Diaryland Diary

in sleep she sang to me, in dreams she came.

Have been busy this week finishing up my individual project for my course. Designed a public relations campaign for an anti-pornography group. Yup the same topic as our jc group project. You know when I mentioned it, people in the class were going,"What? Have you watched pornography before?" Excuse me, you don't have to watch pornography to do a project on it. If doing a project on pornography means you have to watch it, I can do a thesis on the topic. Hahaha joking la.

The first movie of 2005 for me, The Phantom of The Opera. What a great movie to start the year. Overwhelmingly mind-blowing. Okay, so the plot's thin and there're like millions of loopholes in the movie. So says the average ah beng. It's a musical, one's gotta look beyond plots, or the lack thereof for that matter. The redone soundtrack was amazingly refreshing. The continuity of the songs, how the simple melodies(the angel of music tune as well as the chromatic chords of the overture) recur throughout the movie, how fantastically one song transitions to another song, how brilliant the key changes so suddenly, how the music complements the entire atmosphere. And yes, the atmosphere. The set, the props. Beautiful. The Phantom's lair, breathtaking. The cemetary scene, totally captivating. Although the plot's thin, there're things to think about. The power and soul of music, the fine line between love and hate, the difference between love and passion, yeah that's it. Overall, a must-see, would've gotten maximum marks if not for the thin plot. I give it 4 out of 5 Guinnesses.

That aside, i'm feeling kinda heavy hearted now. Can't really put a finger as to the reason why. Or the reasons why, for that matter. Feeling rather irritated with myself. I'll write again soon.
